What's on at the Maiden City Festival - Saturday 6th

This year’s Festival opens with Siege Tales and Story around the Walls and in St Columb’s Cathedral, along with more Bluegrass on the Walls than ever before. In the evening there fresh new Bluegrass in concert at The Artisan Café on Bishop Street, and a Line Dance Extravaganza in the Memorial Hall.

William Moore, Festival Co-ordinator, comments:

"This is taste of the week to come, with dance, music and drama all around and within the historic Walls. The Maiden City Festival offers an absolutely marvelous family day out for the day visitor, and there is plenty to make an overnight stay well worthwhile. History brought to life around the Walls, while our huge range of lunchtime Culture Bite performances in 8 café venues means the entertainment never stops through to the evening lectures and shows."

Jim Brownlee, Governor of the Apprentice Boys, says the Festival team has again delivered an impressive programme:

"The Maiden City Festival is proving to be a huge attraction to the city each August. For community, history and heritage, and diversity in performance we have to again congratulate the team. There is a big welcome for all in the Maiden City this week."
