Along with the traditional celebrations marking the Shutting of the Gates, this weekend sees another first for the Apprentice Boys online.
Following on from the hugely successfull webcasts from the Maiden City Festival in August this year we will be bringing the Shutting of the Gates celebrations to a worldwide audience.
For the first time viewers on the internet will be able to watch the parade through the snow covered streets of Londonderry and see the burning of the effigy of “Lundy the Traitor” in Bishop Street.

- 11.50 The visiting brethren and bands will parae up Bishop Street towards Pallace Lane before finishing at the Memorial Hall.
- 13.15 The main parade will pass infront of the camera as it leaves Society Street at the begining of the parade to the Cathedral.
- 15.20 Having paraded back around the city centre following the service in St Columb's Cathedral the parade will pass under the camera turning into Society Street.
- 15.45 With all the Apprentice Boys and bands gathered infront of the camera in Bishop Street the effigy of Lundy will be lit in the middle of the street.
- 16.00 Visiting brethren and bands will parade past the still burning effigy and onto London Street on their return parade to the Waterside.
