Traditionally the start of the “Parading Season” in Northern Ireland, the Apprentice Boys’ Easter Monday parade is hosted by a different Amalgamated Committee of the Association each year. This year is the turn of the Scottish Amalgamated Committee, who are holding the parade in Larn, County Antrim.
Details of this year’s Parade
Officers of Scottish Amalgamated Committee, General Committee and Guests will form up at 11.45 am in Point street. The parade will be lead by General Committee Colour Party and the Shankill Road Defenders Flute Band and parade via Point Street, Upper Main Street, Bridge Street and Inver Road before entering the War Memorial.
A Short dignified service of remembrance and wreath laying will then take place. On completion of this service the parade will re-form and parade via Inver Road, Bridge Street, Main Street, Curran Road, and Bay Park and enter assembly field.
The main parade will assemble at 12.45 pm and move off at 1pm sharp via Rugby Road, Chaine Memorial Road, Bay Road, Curran Road, Glenarm Road, Newington Avenue ,Herbert Avenue, Agnew Street, Main Street, Upper Main Street, Bridge Street, Glynn Road, Circula Road, Narrow Gauge Road and conclude at Point Sreet.
The saluting base will be positioned at the corner of Glynn Road and Circular Road.
General wearing of the colour crimson is requested and enjoy the day.
